Cati is an American-Romanian, first generation immigrant. She was born in the city of Galati during Romania’s communist dictatorship.

She moved to the south of the United States at age 13 and spent her teens in North Carolina. She is a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill with degrees in International Studies and Romance Languages. She lived and studied in Argentina, Spain, and Romania during her undergraduate years.

Cati has traveled worldwide and found time and time again that great vacation experiences are made memorable by the local communities running the businesses on the ground - from the accommodations, to the food, to the local guides. She founded Buna Travel in connection and collaboration with women and historically marginalized communities to create awe-inspiring journeys for every traveler.
